Feeling Fancy

How awesome are these tees from Little Banditos? They are an online shop offering modern threads for littles. I love how they work with other mom's to promote sweet and stylish duds! These tees are Little Banditos originals. They are so soft and I love that they are completely unisex - a must when you have 2 littles that share clothes.

Head on over to Little Banditos to pick up one (or two) for the littles in your life. In addition to these, they are also an official stockists for Tribe Is Alive and Finomenon Kids!

Pirapir

A few days ago, we got a sweet little package in the mail from Pirapír, a beautiful fashion brand of fabric accessories created by a sisters and mother team. Their pieces are stylish and can be dressed up or down, making them amazing staple pieces. We were sent two pieces from their new New York inspired summer 'Pirapír Petites Clothing' collection, a dreamy mint Uptown top for Pumpkin and the darling On-line Shortalls for the Bub.

These pieces are absolutely darling and so well made. I am in love with the collar on the Uptown top, so feminine and adds the perfect amount of class while still being a super comfortable top for my constantly moving little. And these Shortalls? In love. I put them on the Bub and didn't think I could be happier, that is until I tried them on Pumpkin ... am I right? It may be hard having kids so close in age, but it sure does make sharing clothes so much fun!

Be sure to hurry on over to Pirapír and preorder this new collection! ADDED BONUS: Make sure to use code petites20 for 20% off until 6/22 at midnight!

A few more of my favorites from the collection: (1) Charcoal Gray Play Bloomers (2) Bronx Play Dress (3) Brooklyn Skye Tunic (4) Park Play Shorts

Potty Training

Call me crazy, but 2 weeks before moving into a new house I decided to potty train Pumpkin. She in 2.5 yrs and for the past year or so has been mildly interested in the potty, but usually her response to "Would you like to use the potty like a big girl?" was a very confident "No thank you." About a month ago when we were up visiting family I attempted potty training, but it was a huge failure. She was just so scared to go to the potty.
Is there anything cuter?

This past week though I had a resurge of motivation: she is to big for her swim diaper, and this little LOVES to swim, so potty training was necessary so we can keep swimming / splashing all summer. Instead of just starting again, this time I read an e-manual on the 3-day potty training method. I followed THIS method fairly close. I decided to start on a Friday, since she goes to Mother's Day Out on Thursdays so she could get a whole week in before she was away from me for long periods.

The first day was rough. We had 10 wet accidents (4 of which in her bed) and ran lots of laundry. My little Bug's biggest problem was not bladder control, or knowing when she had to go (only 2 or 3 of her accidents were really big, most she was able to stop herself), her biggest issue was an uncontrollable fear of actually going to the bathroom in the potty.

After 10 accidents and waking up soaked, I was finally able to catch her in time to go in the potty, from that point on (with 2 nap exceptions) my little rockstar has been AWESOME. It took her a little bit to feel comfortable, but so far so good and now instead of crying when she has to go, she cheers (which is darling). She is also motivated by her "cupcakes", tho she's started to forget to ask for them, and I'm not reminding her.

Some things that really helped us (but I'm sure the Bub will be completely different and I'll need a new mode of attack lol):
  (1) Potty treats.
  (2) And juice boxes. Lots. Of. Juice. Boxes.
  (3) Getting 2 mini potty's (one for each floor). I swore I wouldn't let her use them and she could just use the big potty, but for her, the smaller potty was much less scary and manageable. Another bonus is she does not need help getting on it, so until she gets a little taller, mini potty it is.
  (4) Potty training baby doll at the same time. Pumpkin is such a little momma and for her, being able to talk through it with her doll was SO helpful.
  (5) Staying positive and not being passive aggressive (which is hard for me). This could have really backfired especially with all her initial accidents so I'm glad I was able to keep *mostly positive.
   (6) Remaining consistent and letting her make mistakes so she could learn how to do it.

While I'm sure we will have accidents, and she may revert a little during the move, I am just so proud of my big *baby girl, because no matter how old she is, she will always be my baby.

VDGNKD

One amazing part of having kiddos so close in age is after the first year or so, they can share clothes! I for one love a deal (I am an engineer after all) and being able to guarantee multiple kiddos will wear clothing before it has a chance to go out of style, or I lose interest (which happens a lot you know) is awesome. It also helps me justify extra lol, because they "need" more clothes.

Case in point; the kiddos got some amazing tees in the mail from VDGN KD so of course we had to take a few pictures :).

This bear star gazer shirt is my favorite :) it is so soft and Pumpkin calls it her bear shirt. It got put in the Bub's drawer but she made sure it was put back in hers haha. Also amazing is the 8-bit bug shirt they sent for my little Bub. This one is extra special since I call my kiddos Bug also :)

On another note, can I please have my daughters hair? It is getting so long and light these days!

My little man

Hello cheeks. Seriously, they kill me. And another thing that kills me? The fact that I got this outfit when I was pregnant with him and FORGOT about it. :( Needless to say, I plan on squeezing him into it a lot over the next week. Turns out I need a better hoarding method and am open to suggestions!
